Another Trip to Sumy

Last weekend we went again to Sumy, a city north of Kharkov which is in our mission area. We visited the seminary and institute classes and observed that there is excellent instruction by the teachers of both these groups. It is gratifying to see how the teachers view and perform in these important callings. While we were there we went inside a beautiful Russian Orthodox Church which we had photographed on our previous trip. It is very beautiful and ornate on the inside, too. We observed the proceedings for about an hour and found it quite interesting. There are no church meetings there, only individual worship where they go around to the different paintings on the walls of the Virgin Mary, Saints, etc. There were two priests there chanting some kind of blessing and then sprinkling the participants with holy water. The priest cast some our way, too, and we were honored that he recognized us, obviously not of their faith.
