Last week was our last Zone Conference with President and Sister Nielson. They will be returning home at the end of this week. They have served this mission with their eyes truly “single to the glory of God.” We love them and will miss them, but we know that their family in Las Vegas is anxiously awaiting for the return of Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa.
It was a wonderful conference with inspirational messages given to edify and uplift all of us. We all, young and old, love these times to be together and share the joys of this great work of the Lord we are doing. After the conference, the Nielsons spoke at a fireside for the Katowice Branch with messages encouraging us all to develop stronger commitment to the Lord’s work and faith in His wondrous promises for us. It was a very powerful fireside. We all extended a big thank you to the Nielsons for their untiring service to the Saints in Poland.
These are the missionaries in the Katowice Zone in Poland.
This picture was snapped before we were all called to attention. There seems to be a lot going on, but then there’s President Nielson on the phone, as usual. He has been very busy man for three years!
There was a “White Book” chase competition for all the Elders and Sisters. The “White Book” is the missionary standards book which they read constantly. They were to find the pages for answers as quickly as they could for questions they were asked.
These were the people who celebrated birthdays since the last Zone Conference.
We all had to leave something behind for the Nielsons before they leave to go home. As each Elder and Sister has left the mission, the Nielsons have cut off a piece of something from them. Sister Nielson is going to have a quilt made of all the pieces of fabric she has collected for the past three years. I gave a piece of a scarf which was knitted by a dear friend in California and given to me before our mission in Ukraine. This scarf has been through three cold and snowy winters on our missions, and I think it’s ready to be made into a quilt to receive it’s final glory!
We are all holding up our piece of contribution to the quilt. It’s everything from shirts, ties, socks, skirts and scarves.
Here is a closer look at these outstanding missionaries from our zone. You couldn’t find a more dedicated group of young adults anywhere else in the world than these Elders and Sisters. It’s our privilege to work with them in the Lord’s vineyard.
