Sundays are always a good day in the mission field. We see our Branch members, partake of the sacrament, hear uplifting talks in sacrament meeting, and receive inspired instruction in our classes. This Branch has all Polish leadership, which is a real asset, and we are honored to work with these leaders. The members are wonderful, humble Saints who love the Lord. We truly have enjoyed getting to know them and serve with them.
The Relief Society sisters are in groups studying their assigned part of the lesson from the Teachings of Lorenzo Snow. One person from each group reported on what they learned from their section.
We haven’t had any children come for our Primary for a few months, but Nathan was there on Sunday. He is a wonderful six year old who was delightful to teach. Sister Reed taught the lesson with the help of a translator, and she and Nathan were on their own for the second hour. We both colored and had a snack, which didn’t involve much talking!
Last Saturday had planned a Branch outing at one of the parks in the city, but the weather was much too cold. We are all wondering what happened to our beautiful Spring weather. So we had the “grill” (this is the name the Poles use for a barbeque) at the church. The missionaries did their job, and we had quite a few guests there to join us. It seemed like everyone had a good time in spite of the uncooperative weather.
A few days before the grill, the missionaries were cutting out little fliers to had out to people they talk with as they are contacting.
The group gathered for a photo after eating the delicious food which was provided.
Rafal and Agata were the chief “grillers” and were finishing up the last of the sausage, pork, and chicken on the grill which is on the church balcony just outside the kitchen.
There was lots of good conversation along with the good food. Elder Reed is talking with Kate, who is in our English class, her husband, and their son.
Since Zachary was the only child there, the Sisters kept him company for awhile.
Eva and Virginia were some of the guests at the event.
We should have had some music since Basia and Helena were in the mood to dance!
