Easter Is Here!

Today after our District Meeting, Sister Packard asked us if we saw the “big chicken” on the streets of Katowice.  The big chicken hadn’t been spotted by us, so four of the missionaries took us down the street to take a look.  Sure enough, there was the big chicken which was welcoming the holiday of Easter.

This is the big chicken which the missionaries talked about. It appears to be made of thick ropes of twine - a rather unique Easter chicken! As you can see from the way they are dressed, March is going out like a lion. For the past few days, we have experienced some of the coldest weather we have had all winter.

This little "Rynek", or outdoor market area, is right around the corner from the church. Right now many of the stands are selling trinkets and goodies for Easter, so today we had to stroll down the block and see just what was there. We saw some delicious-looking cookies and cakes decorated beautifully for the holiday which were pretty tempting, but we didn't buy today. Maybe tomorrow . . . . .
