Happy Birthday, Relief Society!

Last Saturday the sisters in our Branch  had a birthday celebration for Relief Society, which was first organized March 17, 1842.  There was such a wonderful feeling of sisterhood as we all met for a program and dinner.  Gosia, our RS President, gave a wonderful power point presentation on the history of this women’s organization, which has uplifted and strengthened the sisters for so many years.  Following the presentation we had dinner and lots of good conversation with each other.  At the end of the evening, we had a drawing for the centerpieces on the tables.  The winners went home with beautiful daffodil plants to brighten their homes.   We had 5 visitors at the event, which made it even more special for all of us.  We love the Katowice sisters in our Branch!

Grarzyna was the first one to win one of the table centerpieces.

These are the grand winners of the table centerpieces, minus Grarzyna, who had to leave early. The only male attendee at the event was a winner, too. He is the son of Elizbieta (next to him). He has mental disabilities and goes with his mother everywhere. We were glad to have him with us that day.

That looks like fun! A pretty good turn out too. The plants are quite spring-ish however, I noticed your weather there it’s still pretty cold and snowy, no?
