A Wonderful Baptism

Last Saturday we had a young man, Arsene, baptized as our newest member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Poznan. It was such a spiritual and joyful baptism for all of us. Arsene is from Russia and is attending a university here in Poznan. He was confirmed and given the gift of the Holy Ghost on Sunday at our Sacrament Meeting. Arsene has gained a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the restoration of His true church in these latter days. We welcome him with open arms into our Branch of this great church.

This is the beautiful spot where the baptism was held. The lake is in the western part of the city, and it was a very peaceful, secluded spot for this sacred ordinance to be performed.

Arsene is in the center, and the two Elders who taught him the gospel, Elder Skolimowski and Elder Sorn.

Those in attendance were Branch members, guests, and our Mission President and his wife, President and Sister Nielson.

After the baptism, we had a barbeque for everyone. Grzegosz is cooking that wonderful Polish sausage we find here in Poland.

Everyone brought something to add to the barbeque, and it turned out to be quite a feast.

It was a great time to just mingle with one another. The young people are getting ready to get a soccer game going out in the meadow.

Any way you look at it, it was a spiritual, joyful, and wonderful day for all of us.

Looks like the sites the early church used to baptize members. What a handsome radiant looking young man.

How cool to be baptized in a lake. What a beautiful spot too. Were there any people passing by at all? How is Arsene doing? What’s his calling? Doesn’t he plan on going back to Russia?
