A BRANCH CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

The Central Branch, which is our home branch, had a wonderful Christmas program last Sunday evening. There was a beautiful Christmas spiritual thought, hymns were sung, and then everyone who wanted to had a chance to share some thoughts about Christmas. After each person shared his or her message, they took a small bundle of hay and put it in a manger at the side of the room. There were chairs setting around the manger which the speakers sat on after giving their Christmas thought. There were some beautiful messages relayed by the participants, and it was a very spiritual evening for all of us.

What a neat idea. I was reminded this Christmas that the manger is actually a feeding trough and that, instead of a bed, it is actually like a table. Thinking of it this way reminds us of the sacrament table. Jesus was the bread of life and when we take the sacrament bread we are reminded of that. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. :)
