KHARKOV IS VERY BEAUTIFUL IN THE SUMMERTIME

On our way home from volunteering at one of the English schools (they call them English Clubs) we walk past these beautiful churches in the city and through some of the parks. In the summertime the city parks are filled with the people enjoying the wonderful warm weather and the sunshine. Flowers are planted everywhere and the trees are green and lush. Even the Opera House and the Philharmonic have no performances in July and August because the citizens would rather be enjoying the out of doors these summer months.

This beautiful Provoslavic Church is one of the icons in town.

There is a river which runs through the city which is pretty, but not too clean!

Another of the beautiful churches - the sun was setting illuminating the building brightly that time of day.

In one of the parks these older citizens were trying to earn a few greven by performing for the passers-by. Their music was really quite good!
